piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013

Woah! Yep, I was chosen as one of the lucky ones to participate in the piCture pOlish blog fest! It has been soooo hard keeping this a secret, but now I can finally breath! ;):P

This year is the Year Of The Blogger!
Each blogger got given 3 Picture Polish shades, on which we all had to create a piece of nail art - using only the 3 polishes & either black or white (minimal).
This was seriously one tough one, I sat thinking forever what I could do and what would work best with the colours I was given...

Here I got - Mallard a deep emerald green polish with golden green shimmer along with added flakies that shine green / orange. Matched with Metallic Mush, a very pale pinky gold foil metallic, and finally Tango, a peachy coral cream.

I finally came up with 'oriental' style flowers - it seemed the best and prettiest match!

I chose to only do 2 feature nails, I am rather pleased with the outcome!

Tutorial -

1. As we were allowed to use white , I mixed some Tango and white to make the start of the flower, using my brush I dabbed a shape as shown.
2. Using Tango fill in the flower, leaving an outline as such.
3. Using the same white and Tango mix, create a little stem in the centre of your flower.
4. With Metallic Mush create the swirls(stems) and leaves, I chose to not fill in the leaves to much - I just think it added to the effect more.
5. Add in dabs of the white and Tango mix, along with dabs of Tango on top, in various places.

Phew! I hope my little tutorial makes sense ;)
The excitement alone doesn't stop here! With there being over 130 bloggers participating in piCture pOlish blog fest - all creating nail art with 3 shades, at the end of this 3 lucky bloggers get to create 3 new collaboration shades with Picture Polish!

This is how it will work -
1 x Award - as voted by PP friends and fans
1 x Award  - as voted by all participants of Blog Fest 2013
1 x Award - as voted
by Jules & Megs of piCture pOlish

Voting will take place over at Picture Polish Pinterest Board - so you can go vote for your favourites, me me me :O ;) hehe. A girl can ask right? ;)

A quick and simple NOTD :)

I thought I would do a quick NOTD for you all ;) I have never shown bare nail in posts, atleast I am sure I haven't! Ha.
Today I wanted to do something really simple but pretty also, so I went with heart tips.

I fancied a holo - with all this sun we are getting, it would be rude not to right? ;)

For the base colour I used Sparitural Idyllic, this is seriously perfect! My nails are stained butttt you can't see it ;) Idyllic really adds the natural glow power!! ;)
I used Color Club Cherubic for the hearty tips :)

I actually really love this, it's perfect for any occasion.

Hope you're all well,

Denim Mini Leopard Print - Birthday Nails :)

Well today I turnt 22 yay !!
I didn't really go all out with nail art, so I went with a favourite - mini leopard print!

I didn't know how to do this so it was different to my many other ways, then I thought denimmmm! I thought to try an do the worn out look where the leopard will shine through! I like the look of these, although how wierd they might come across as? Lol

I chose to do rainbow leopards instead of one colour, I just thought it would add some shaaaabang to the design?! Lol!
The leopard print was done first by the way with Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud as the base colour ;)

I didn't topcoat the Barry M Denim, I love the way it dries semi matte an all lovely :D

So these are my bday nails :)
Enjoy all

Pocket Money Polishes in Boogie; Swatches and Review

Hi Hi!
Remember me? I know, I have been terrible lately but until my personal life is sorted, blogging is on the if and when for now! Fingers crossed not much longer!

Today I have a gorgeous polish from Pocket Money Polishes to share today, PMP is a UK based indie brand! YAY. I love the fact there is a few UK indies now.
The concept behind PMP is brilliant too, the owner Charlie chose the name with the great meaning - polish at pocket money price! Currently she only sells 5ml bottles for £4. Amazing!
I love that with them being 'pocket money priced' they will appeal to the younger nail fanatics or newly into the nail community. Along with that, they would even be great stocking fillers, for party bags and so on.

Onto the gorgeous one I have to show -

Boogie is one beautiful topper! Jam packed full of neon pink matte squares, neon blue matte hexes, with holo hexes in both pink and blue. Yummmmmy!
Flawless application and no fishing at all. I applied 2 coats over black :)
Macro time.. ooooooooohhh

Seriously my Seche took the fricking biscuit with them bubbles -.-

I included the above macro because I thought it looks rather groovy ;).

Overall I love this! I had to apply it over black to see them colours pop. Charlie did perfection on this beauty, I love these bottle shapes also, I found I could hold them better than with the small round ones.
Pocket Money Polishes are 3-free and cruelty free! Shipping is only available in the UK with postage of £1.50 for up to 4 bottles! They also have a loyalty scheme, where when you buy 10 bottles you get the 11th FREE, the 10 bottles does not have to be bought all at once ;)

If you want to check out Pocket Money Polishes you can visit the website here, also keep up to date on collections, with sneak peeks also.. on PMP Facebook :)

Mint Manis For Talia Joy

Hi loves,
Following on from yesterdays post where I did nail art in honour of the beautiful Talia, I chose to join the nail community in doing a mint mani for our angel.
I love how everyone has come together in doing this for Talia today, it is beautiful & I know she would have loved it.

I am sure by now you all know who Talia is, the truly inspirational 13 year old girl who has been battling 2 forms of cancer. She wanted nothing more than to become a make up artist and she made such amazing videos on Youtube. Her saying was 'Make Up Is My Wig'. She was so bubbly and outgoing, never let anything get in her way & lived life to the fullest. She is also well known for her saying 'Just Keep Swimming' which described how she went day by day without letting anything get her down.
Along with being such an amazing star she was also named honorary Covergirl by Ellen DeGeneres.

Talia, even though she had such a short life, she lived everyday doing things she wanted and smiling. She left her mark on the world, something she wanted to do. She accomplished just that along with so much more. She will never be forgotten and her memories will live on forever.

I wanted to go pretty simple with this design, so I used Face Of Australia After Dinner Mint, White acrylic paint all topped off with one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust.

My little 2 year old lady also wore mint for Talia today, just a thin coat of Face Of Australia After Dinner Mint, but I thought I would share :)

No words could ever be enough, so I will leave a <3.
May Talia Fly High & Rest In Paradise.

You will always be missed beautiful angel

Nail Art in memory of the truly inspirational Talia Joy Castellano, RIP Beautiful Angel xx

I felt I needed to do this piece of art for Talia yesterday, I worked hard on it hence why it wasn't posted then I wanted to try and paint her beautiful face, so I took my time.

I am sure by now everyone knows who Talia Joy is, the beyond talented, full of life, bubbly young girl. You can check out her Youtube here.
She inspired so many people, and wanted to leave her foot and handprints on the world, which she has done - and so much more!

Talia will always be remembered and her memory will live on always, she touched so many people in so many ways. I was in utter shock finding out Talia had gained her wings on the 16th July at 11.22am, but she will live on forever.

This beautiful angel accomplished so much in 13 short years, she never let anything get in her way, for that alone she was a sensation.

I chose to include things Talia loved onto my nails - Rhinestones because she loved bling phone cases, a MAC lipstick because she was such a talented MUA, and a saying we all will remember Talia by ''Just Keep Swimming''.

I used Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud, followed by 2 coats of Pahlish Ace Of Fours topped with one coat of Essie Waltz.

May this beautiful amazing angel Rest In Paradise, I send all my love to her family and friends. I know Talia will always be around us.
Fly High Sweet Angel.
